Daddy's Little Girl

He remembers now her first step
On her bottom she did fall
Her arms outstretched the tears did flow
And daddy she did call

First day of school he followed the bus
Until it reached the schoolhouse door
On his cheek a tear did fall
There goes his little girl

Her first date he waited up
As he watched the clock turn slow
And when she returned he snuck away
So she would not know

Off to college so far away
Four years it seemed so long
She’s all grown up a woman now
Determined to make it on her own

All dressed in white she walks the aisle
Her eyes did shine like pearls
But to him she will always be
Daddy's little girl
