Eulogy

Amazing grace was being sung
As they all lined to see
What once was a life
Now gone to eternity

I stopped to ponder life
And what mine has become
What would they remember of me
When my life is done
What will be my eulogy
What will I leave behind
When they look upon my past
What is it they will find

Will they think of me as a good man
A loving father to my daughters and son
A man who provided for his family
And worked from sun to sun

Will they think of me as a dreamer
Who made his thoughts with pen
A man of faith and values
Who tried to stay from sin

What will they remember of me
when my life is gone
This life that we live
Does not last far to long

So make the most of what you have
And leave behind a name
That those who matter most
Remember not in shame

Show your love while you can
And let your loved ones know
What they all mean to you
Before your life no more

Don't be afraid to let your heart
Be seen by one and all
Tomorrow may be to late
You never know when you will be called
