Father
~
I remember growing up
On a little farm in Illinois
My father worked every day
To feed us four boys
~
He never missed a day
His fingers he worked to the bone
Then come home and ride a tractor
Until the sun was gone
~
A man of morals and principles
A standard he set for us
Never steal lie or cheat a man
Be a man that they can trust
~
Don’t worry about what people think of you
Or even what they may say
They will leave someone else alone
As long as They talk of you this day
~
He is the wisest man I have ever met
And strong he was to me
He never complained about what life dealt him
He said what will be will be
~
If I can be half the man
That he has become
I will have achieved so much in life
A good race Ill know I have run
~
I want to make him proud
Of the man I have come to be
For without his love and guidance
The man I am you would not see
~
I have strived to be the man
That he would want me to be
I hope that if he could see me now
On this he would agree.

I Love You Dad
