The Gallows

Tick tock goes the clock
Drumming in my head
The sound of my heartbeat echo’s
In this moment that I dread

Fear returns panic sets in
My mind is all a blur
I wish that time could be erased
Before my sins were occurred

Sweat drips off my darkened brow
As a guard unlocks my door
It's time to take that walk now
My life will be no more

I remember back to why I'm here
And sorrow fills my soul
I took a life I now must pay
And know I must pay the toll

We walk outside the sun shines bright
The birds are chirping near
The gallows stand in front of me
My heart is gripped with fear

The hangman stands tall and straight
With eyes as black as coal
My body drops my neck is broke
The devil claims my soul
